Maymont, a beautiful victorian park located in the heart of Richmond, Virginia was the perfect place for Maddy and Dakotah’s intimate January elopement.

With Dakotah’s military deployment moved up, the couple decided to have a small, intimate elopement. An officiant and Maddy’s parents were in attendance.

The bride wore an elegant sweetheart neckline dress and carried a winter bouquet of red, white and shades of pink flowers. The colors in the bouquet complimented her striking red hair.

The two were married in the Italian Garden under the trellis of the long pergola. This structure features classical granite colonnades designed like those in 15th century Rome. It is well sought after for outdoor weddings in the Richmond area.

Although a lot of flowers and trees are not in bloom in January in Richmond, Virginia, Maymont offers many other beautiful backdrops… waterfalls, stone statues, ponds.

After the ceremony, we walked down to the Japanese Garden, one of the most reflective areas in the park. Here I captured Maddy and Dakotah walking across the stepping stones in the pond hand in hand.

It truly was a beautiful January day for this special couple.
